Hawai‘i Sports Hall of Fame to Honor 2026 Inductees at Annual Banquet on August 13

hawaii sports hall of fame induction banquet logoThe Hawai‘i Sports Hall of Fame will celebrate its 2026 class of inductees at the annual Hawai‘i Sports Hall of Fame Banquet on Thursday, August 13, at 5:00 p.m. at the Honolulu Country Club.

The evening will bring together athletes, coaches, contributors, families, supporters and members of Hawai‘i’s sports community to recognize individuals whose achievements and impact have helped shape the state’s rich athletic legacy.

This year’s inductees represent excellence across surfing, skateboarding, volleyball and basketball, each leaving a lasting mark on their sport and on Hawai‘i’s athletic legacy. The 2026 Hawai‘i Sports Hall of Fame inductees include:

  • Darren Ho – Pioneer, Skateboarding
    A trailblazer in skateboarding, Darren Ho became one of Town & Country’s first nationally sponsored riders and was part of the 1970s skateboarding revolution. Inducted into the Skateboarding Hall of Fame in 2025, Ho now becomes the first locally born and raised skateboarder to be inducted into the Hawai‘i Sports Hall of Fame.
  • Kelia Moniz – World Champion, Surfing
    Known for her graceful longboarding style and global influence, Kelia “Sister” Moniz captured back-to-back Association of Surfing Professionals Women’s Longboard Championships in 2012 and 2013. Her career has helped elevate women’s longboarding and inspire future generations of surfers.
  • Beth McLachlin – Contributor, Volleyball
    A pioneer in women’s volleyball and athletics in Hawai‘i, Beth McLachlin was a member of the USA Olympic Women’s Volleyball Team as an alternate in 1968 and played for the national team from 1969 through 1976. She became the first Rainbow Wahine to receive an athletic scholarship and later dedicated decades of service to education and athletics.
  • Anthony “Tony” Sellitto – Contributor, Coach
    A legendary coach and mentor, Tony Sellitto is recognized as the only basketball coach in Hawai‘i history to win both a high school state championship and a college national title. He led Maryknoll to a state championship in 1984 and Hawai‘i Pacific University to the NAIA national championship in 1993.
