The Stadium Stars Sports Broadcasting Program
The Stadium Stars program and Hawaii Sports Program, which started in 1994 has been a stepping stone for Hawaii’s teens and young adults to learn the game experiencing the “behind the scenes” footwork. We are currently accepting new applications for the upcoming 2018 – 2019 football season!
Stadium Stars participants obtain valuable “on the job” lessons through developing pre-game preparation, calling live high school games, and working as a team to deliver a successful game plan. New to the program will be our mentoring spotlight where new team members will be able to work alongside Hawaii’s top sports broadcasters such as Bob Hogue and Rob DeMello. You’ll even have the chance to work along-side coaches such as Coach Ane, (Punahou), Coach Ma’afala (Kamehameha) and Coach Mailei (Saint Francis). Team spots include play-by-play broadcaster, color broadcaster, floor director, spotter/stats director, and video board observation. Team members are scheduled for either Friday evenings or Saturday’s from August through November depending on the high school football schedule. In addition to high school football, we may have other event/game opportunities during the months of January through March for additional off-season practice. Participants are on a volunteer basis and are not required to attend all games.
