VALEN-TAILS FAMILY 3K FUN RUN & EXPO
Love is in the air this Valentine’s, and we’re bringing you Valen-tails Family 3k Fun Run & Expo at the Aloha Stadium.
Runners/Walkers get dressed up, bring your glow sticks/paint and be on the lookout for the foam pit, “bubbles” station, laser lights and more throughout the route! Each participant will receive an event walk t-shirt and *glow doggie collar (for participants registering dogs only). We’re encouraging everyone to come out and support this great cause…..pet or not and enjoy the festivities!
Before and after the run, why not share the "love" and spend an evening with your family and four-legged best-friend(s) and enjoy local grinds from some of the best food vendors around the island as well as unique items from Hawaii’s crafters and businesses specializing in both human and doggie products! Additional activities include K9 demostrations, owner-pet look-a-like contest, Tails of Hawaii "waggin" doggie play zone & Keiki fun zone too!
So get creative, dress up and come on down….it’s definitely going to be a “glowing” good time for everyone to enjoy! Partial proceeds to benefit the Hawaiian Humane Society. In partnership with Hawaii Pet Magazine and Tails of Hawaii.

Packet pick ups will be available starting Monday, February 3, 2014 through Friday, February 7, 2014 between the hours of 9am - 4pm at the Aloha Stadium Box Office.
Event day check in will begin at 4:30pm - 6:30pm in the North Plaza. Run to start at 7:00pm with waves going every 5 minutes.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is the race hard?
No. The race has been designed for fun. Plus, there is no timing, so families and their four-legged pals can enjoy themselves and then return to the festivities in the Plaza! Plus we don’t want you to miss out on the foam pit, “bubbles” station, laser lights and more throughout the route!
Can I take pictures?
Of course! We encourage everyone to take photos and share them with us on Facebook and Twitter!
Are kids allowed?
Yes, kids are more than welcome. We love kids just as much as dogs! Kids 4 and under are free, but will not receive a shirt. All kids must have a release waiver signed by a parent/guardian and turned in before they are allowed to participate. The waiver can be obtained and signed at the event.
Are spectators allowed?
Yes. Family members that do not wish to participate in the run have the option of enjoying all the festivities, good food and vendor booths for FREE.
Can we wear costumes?
Yes! We love costumes! The more creative and “glowish” the better!
Do I have to bring a dog?
Absolutely not! Come out and support a great cause with or without your pet. Dogs aren’t required to run, but they’ll have just as much fun as you, and they’re free. We just ask that you have one dog per adult only if you choose to bring your pet.
Are there any rules about bringing a dog?
Yes we do have a few rules of safety so everyone can enjoy the event:
-All the dogs must be on leash and managed by an adult at all times.
-Only 1 dog per adult is allowed.
-Owners need to pick up after their dogs at all times.
-Owners are responsible to have full control of their dogs.
-No aggressive dogs allowed, period!
-All dogs need to be properly vaccinated before entering the event.
-No Female dogs “in-season”
What time does the race begin?
The race begins at 7PM, and then we'll release groups of runners/walkers every 5 minutes. We recommend getting there 45-60 minutes early so you have plenty of time to park and walk around the expo! After the event, be sure to grab a bite to eat or shop around and enjoy all the other expo activities. Event will end at 9PM.
Can I Walk?
Yes. Walking is totally acceptable here at the stadium. You will be one of many who will be walking. We don't time the race and it is non-competitive, so you won't feel any pressure.
Who does it benefit?
We have partnered with the Hawaiian Humane Society once again in support of animal adoptions!
What's the price and how do I register?
The registration fee for the 3k is $35 for adults and $20 for kids (5 – 17 years) as long as you register for the event by December 31st. The cost will go up after that. The price includes expo activities as well.
Can I refund my registration?
Sorry, no. You can still pick up your packet and race goodies, or you can transfer your registration to someone else up to 1 week prior to the event.
Can I transfer my registration?
Yes. You can transfer your registration to another person up to 1 week prior to the event. In order to transfer a registration, please provide us with the contact information, email and shirt size of the person to whom the registration will be transferred to. We will then take care of the rest.
Can you ship my packet to me?
Packets need to be picked up in person before the race or on race day. We will have packet pick-up available beginning 1 week prior to race day.
Can I run without a dog?
Of course you can. We’re encouraging everyone to come out and support this great cause!
Is there a fee for dogs?
Dogs are free, however, we only allow one dog per adult participant.
Are there any age limits?
Everyone is welcome to join the fun! Just remember that anyone 5 and older needs to pay a registration fee. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome!
Will I be timed?
No timing chips, but you will have the “time of your life”!
When is packet pickup?
Packet pick-up will begin on Monday, February 3, 2014 through Friday, February 7, 2014 between the hours of 9am - 4pm at the Aloha Stadium Box Office. E-mail reminders will be sent two weeks prior to the race with specific instructions and information so you can easily get your packet and be ready for race day. Your confirmation number from the registration will be required to obtain your packet.
Can I pick up the race packet for a friend?
Yes, you can pick up other people's packets as long as you have their confirmation ticket.
What is included in my Valen-tails Family 3k Fun Run packet?
Your race packet will contain:
- Valen-tails Family 3k Fun Run t-shirt
- Glow Lei
- Any promo material that local sponsors might include
What should I wear?
You can wear whatever you want but we suggest glow paint or additional glow sticks so everyone can see you throughout the course.
