it’s 10th Year Anniversary With International Headliners

(Honolulu, Hawaii April 16 2019): Ray Jr. is excited to announce that The MayJah RayJah 2019 Music Festival is returning to Honolulu this July 26 and July 27 at the iconic Aloha Stadium with neighbor island dates to follow. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, this years music festival boasts it’s biggest lineup to date with headliners multi- Grammy Award winning reggae superstar Damian “J. Gong” Marley and Island Music megastars SOJA.

Damian was 2 years old when his father died; he is the only child born to Marley and Cindy Breakspeare, Miss World 1976. Damian’s nickname Junior Gong is derived from his father’s nickname of Tuff Gong. Damian has been performing since the age of 13. He is best known for his hit singles ‘Me Name Junior Gong’, ‘One Cup of Coffee’ and ‘Welcome To Jamrock’ At the 2006 Grammy Awards, he won Best Reggae Album and Best Urban/Alternative Performance for Welcome to Jamrock. He is the only Jamaican reggae artist in history to win two Grammy Awards on the same
night. He is also the only reggae artist to win in the Best Urban/Alternative Performance category at the Grammy Awards. On 17 May 2010, Marley released Distant Relatives, a collaborative album with Nas.

SOJA’s energetic, impassioned live performances have a similar effect. Averaging around 120 shows a yearsoja-pressphoto-01 for the last decade, SOJA has toured with acts that include Dave Matthews Band, 311 and Incubus, and engaged a massive international fan base of die-hard followers at festivals that include Bonnaroo, Hangout Festival, Wakarusa, Cali Roots, Summerjam Germany, Woodstock Poland, Personal Festival Argentina, Ziget Festival Hungry and many more. Their live shows offer people a chance to look both inward and outward, and feel part of a global community, particularly since SOJA has headlined shows in over 30 countries. For SOJA, everything is about connection, whether it’s with the world around them or within the band.

Established in 2009, The MayJah RayJah Music Festival has become a true staple in Hawaii’s island music scene. Since its inception, our annual festival has delivered over 30 festivals on four different islands attracting tens of thousands of loyal island music fans! Past headliners of The MayJah RayJah Music Festival have included Shaggy, Tarrus Riley, J Boog Common Kings, Matisyahu, MAGIC!, SOJA, UB40, King Yellowman, Iration, Tribal Seeds, and The Green. This year we promise to deliver an unforgettable experience and invite fans from all over the world to come an enjoy the great music here in our Island Paradise.

The MayJah RayJah 2019 Music Festival passes on sale at 10am on Saturday April 27, 2019 online at www.tmrevents.net.
